Be Happy, Be Inspired

I just wanted to do a quick post about Christina Aguilera's new album.

I don't usually do posts about music, but I've been listening to this album for about a week now and I'm really liking it. I was just browsing spotify and thought I'd give it a listen, and now I cant stop.
it reminds me of a Santigold album I have, who I also love.

anyway. thats all.

Yes, everyone has posted about the Benefit pencils free with Glamour, its old news. I was sad enough to get all three last Thursday from work... (sneakily hiding them out the back) before anyone had a chance to buy them...

anyway here is a quick FOTD using said pencils mainly. This really isnt anything exciting, as I do have work and tbh can't be bothered ;)
I'm loving the 'it stick' the most I think.

Also at work I spotted a free Jemma Kidd Lipgloss in this months Red mag so I may have to procure one of those today, it looked really nice.

anyway, Ciao xo

Epilators seem like the scariest thing in the world, let’s not lie. I'm not sure whether it’s the noise it makes or just the whole contraption in general but let’s just say when I first used mine I was less than looking forward to it.
I wanted a change. I got bored of shaving, and the quick regrowth. at first I bought wax strips, but soon tired of them, I seemed to be left with have the wax still stuck to my skin after ripping them off and it was simply too much hassle, I read a few reviews on epilators and pretty much went on to Amazon and bought the cheapest one I could find. It happened to be this one, at a cheerful £17.50.

Not know what to expect I thought I would try it out first on my forearms, just to get an idea of the pain... now this is the worrying but, I kinda liked it.

I went on to do my under arms and yes, it hurt quite a bit more but it was bearable. It was oddly satisfying seeing all the tiny hairs pulled out at the root, if a little disgusting at the same time.
I've had my epilator for about a month, and I’ve really only had to use it on a hand full of occasions I find I can go quite comfortably without using it for about a week and half before I see re growth, which it quite good for me as I’d usually need to shave about 3 times a week. So rather than this being a review on the particular epilator I bought, (which does do a good job but I’m guessing there are much better ones out there....) it is a review on epilating in general, for me I don’t think I’d go back to shaving now, whether it’s the sado masochist in me or whether it really is a better method of hair removal...

wow, its been a while since I posted... and actually quite alot had happened. My last post was all about going to London for an interview on a makeup degree, well... that didnt quite go as well as i'd hoped and I ended up not getting a place on the course. For a while I didnt know what I was going to do next, whether to stick with the makeup artist route or not... I was rejected from the other courses i'd applied for before even being offered an interview so suffice to say I was feeling a bit shit about the whole thing, although not as dissapointed as i thought i would be... I'm the kind of person that never just sticks to one idea or one career path for that matter. I've never really known what i want. which leads me to where i am now. me and my fiance are still going to London, (he got onto his top up course so, and wasnt a question of us living apart) only now I'm going to become a Midwife rather than a makeup artist. I know, a rather big gap between the two careers, but it is somehting i have alwasy wanted to do and now ive come to realise that i can i suppose, which sounds like a bit of a cliche.. but isn't. ANYWAY. people are confused by my sudden change of plan becasue for a while i really did believe i wanted to be come a makeup artist, but something changed, and it was odd but when i made that decision to do something else it felt right. it felt like i should have chosen this path a long time ago. but we live and learn don't we. Ive learnt so much doing the artistic makeup course this year, that i have no regrets and I can still do freelance work on the side if i feel so inclined. I feel this blog will change a bit, and maybe i'll share more about me, and my life, with the occasional beauty post thrown in for good measure. I want to share my experiences as i move to London and start a whole new life.

anyway, rather than bore you all to tears, i'll end it there.
