Be Happy, Be Inspired

This is going to my review of a little burger place called Meat Liquor. It was my birthday last week and I decided that I wanted to spend my time drinking cocktails and eating burgers… and where better to do than than MEATliquor?
I had read and heard previous reviews of this place and really wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about.

Firstly I was anticipating having to wait to be seated, and in order to avoid queuing for too long decided to head there for around 5pm to try and beat the queues, luckily we managed to get seated straight away without having to queue at all which was great. We sat down and started to look at what was on the menu.
Now, two members of the group had already been before so had a pretty good idea about what to expect and it was pretty much agreed that we would a selection of starters/ sides etc to share and then out own individual burgers.

Firstly we ordered drinks! cocktails mainly and the odd beer, very nice! went down a treat. Not a huge amount to say about the cocktails they were pretty standard, nothing particularly great about them but nothing bad either! Also they had a good selection of flavors.

Next out were the starters. We ordered Deep Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and Chicken Wings, this came with a blue cheese sauce. I didn't managed to get a picture of these because everyone pretty much just demolished the tray within minutes. Everything was delicious. The chicken wings had a really original flavour and the blue cheese sauce was just amazing. I loved the pickles too. Everything had just the right amount of grease to it too you know? Nothing felt too heavy, the batter on the pickles and onion rights was crispy and light and had a great flavor.

After a short while, (the tray for the starters had only just been finished and taken away) the mains came out, I feel like this picture just doesn't do it any justice whatsoever but seriously. This food was awesome. I really don't know how to elaborate further. The burgers were really tasty (I ordered a Dead Hippy incase you were wondering), the meat was juicy, and not overly seasoned and the fillings in the burger complimented the flavor of the meat really well. I mean, it was just a really good burger, again not too greasy, although it was pretty greasy by my standards it wasn't bad at all, in comparison to a Patty and Bun burger that is swimming in oil. They held their form really well too, Like they didnt fall apart as soon as you picked it up. Anyway, overall I'd rate the food a 9/10 for flavor. The fries were amazing, considering they were covered in cheese and chilli etc they remained crispy, The Chilli fries were the best for me, the flavor of the chilli was unreal. The service was really good too, staff were attentive and happy to get extra drinks/kitchen rolls (You will need this!) on request. The only thing I will pick up on is that fact that they did seem to get a little edgy the longer we stayed, However I appreciate that we we're quite a large group and the restaurant was becoming increasingly busy. I wouldn't say we were rushed to leave, but it did feel a little like they were hanging around just to eye up when the table would be free.

Ok, I think I've rambled on enough about burgers. Basically if you like a good burger you have to try one from Meat Liquor. The price? Well, it was reasonable, a little expensive, but really worth it. I think when I go again, Yes, 'when' not 'if!' I'd forgo the cocktails as they really pushed the price up on the bill and to be honest I wasn't blown away, We did order a fair few each though, but I think next time I'd maybe just order the one to go with the food.

So, there we go. I need to stop writing now because I'm getting hungry just talking about it! Yum

Thank you for reading.

drool!

Yes this is a blog post all about me! Today is my birthday!

oh man I love cake!
I still can't believe I'm 23. Where does the time go?
Every year my birthday rolls around, and every year I can't believe I'm another year older! you'd think I'd be accustomed to this phenomena by now!
I'm hoping to be in a burger induced coma by the end of the night, review of Meat Liquor to follow!

Also, happy birthday to Joss Stone, Jeremy Clarkson, Zoe Lucker and Michelle Phan!

Hi,

Another journey, another blog post. This time I'm sat on a bus on my way to work.

God I hate working at the weekend. Which is something you'd have thought I would be used to by now, since getting my first job at 16 in a co-op, I've always worked weekends, and the odd day during the week whilst studying. I guess I'm feeling reflective because my days of being a student are numbered, and the restriction this brings with working part time.
I've decided to take a step back from being a student for a while (I had planned on going straight into a pgce in September) because I feel like I need a break! I want to experience full time working life. I have a feeling i'll regret saying that, but I've been in education from the age of 3. I'll be 23 in five days. I think it's time for a break. If only for the chance of having weekends free for a while! I feel like I've missed so many events because I've been at work, unable to book time off last minute etc. when I leave Uni my plan is to find work as a TA for a while, see how I like it. If all goes well... We go forward with the pgce and then I'll teach! That's the plan anyway. I have a habit of changing my mind.
Anyway.
An insight into my boring life so far.

Thank you for reading.

Hi,

Only me! I'm currently sat on a coach on the way to London. So thought I'd take the time to write something. I could be using this time considerably more constructively, like by doing, I don't know... *cough* uni work *cough* but alas... I'm not.

Sigh. Ill never learn. Oh well good job I'm not going to be a student for much longer... That's a scary thought.

Ok on to something less boring. Or more boring, depending on your own opinion.

Turns out I hadn't thought this through... I'm not really sure what I'm doing here... Maybe I'll do a tag...
Ok, This or That...

1. Blush or Bronzer? Bronzer gotta sculpt those cheekbones!

2. Lip gloss or Lipstick? Lipgloss, I always worry about my lipstick smudging or just looking generally crap... Lipgloss is way more forgiving.

3. Lip Butter or Lip Balm? Is there a huge difference? Probably balm though as I feel like butter just sits on my lips and leaves a film of slime..

4. Matte or Sparkle Eyeshadow? Hmmm. I do like a good shimmer... But I think for practicality mattes are sometimes more wearable.

5. Foundation or Concealer? If the foundation is good enough I generally skip concealer anyway so... Foundation!

6. Eyeliner or Mascara? Mascara. Shadows can be used as liner, but my lashes without mascara just look odd.

7. Loosed Powder or Pressed Powder? I've never really found one that I like from either of those choices so.. I guess for practicality... Pressed.

8. Brushes, Sponges or Fingers? Hmm... Overall brushes but I'm not adverse to using my fingers when it comes to foundation etc.

9. Waterproof or Non-waterproof? Again, it depends! Generally I find waterproof formulas to be a little heavy, and mascara can often be clumpy.. I guess it depends on what I'm doing that day?

10. Can’t live without? Food, water? Oh right makeup wise... I guess mascara, and something to full my eyebrows with, whether its a pen or powder.

Would you Rather?

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows? I'd rather not loose anything but then, that's not what your asking. Hmm it would have to be palette and shadows. I just can't image not wearing mascara/eyeliner. Lipgloss et al I could probably cope without.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again? Chop it off... I mean I love long hair but it would get pretty long if I never cut it again!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek? Coral, my cheeks are pink without blush I don't need help there.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup? Hmm, tough one. I want t osay make up but part of me thinks that would just be stupid. Clothes would last longer and be more practical than 100 tubes of mascara.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick? Well... Neither. It depends on the colours I guess. Eyeliner as lipstick. Lets live on the wild side. Lipstick as eyeliner would just look like you have pinkeye surely?

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora? We don't have Sephora so MAC

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life? Another tough one.. Because you've got to think about all the occasions your going to go to... If I could find the most perfect lip colour ever that made my lips look amazing I'd go for that.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter? Summer clothes in winter. I can't stand being too hot. Although I do live in England, there's a pretty slim chance of it ever being too hot ever again!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright. Bright. Bright.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product? Lip. Again, I think you can do too much with your eyes to limit what you use on them. My lips are awkward at the best if times.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun? Probably pony tail.

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss? Screw lipgloss, nothing is going to stop me pairing my nails.

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday? Oh god. What a horrible thought. What colour is the sharpie though? Because I pretty much have no eyebrows anyway...

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish? Oh god. Don't make me choose. I'm not answering that.

Ok, there we go. I have sufficiently wasted time on my blog rather than doing something constructive. I hope it wasn't too boring.

Thank you for reading.

And just for the sheer cuteness here is a picture of a cat.

and hopefully a renewed sense of purpose!
I've been meaning to post for a while, but I guess time had other ideas.
Truth is I've been stuck with this blog for a while now, I just don't know what direction I want to go in. I still don't, but I'm hoping a new layout/name might help me to rekindle my love for blogging.
That being said, this is most certainly a procrastination technique to get me out of doing my uni work.
I'll do anything.
So here we are.

What do you think?
The name...? I'm not really sure why I liked it but I was reading a book about stage make up and it was the first line in the book... And it kind of stuck.

I'm going to do a few posts to get myself back into the swing if it but I can't promise when, I desperately need to do uni work so we'll see.

Anyway... Just dropping by to say hello.
And now goodbye!

Thank you for reading.
