I'm not sure about writing this post, I hate to come across as miserable but I’m just not feeling myself at the moment. I need to just get it out of my system. I’m not expecting anyone who reads this to find it interesting so just as a little disclaimer, a pre-warning this will be a miserable ranty post. :)
To be honest I’m not even sure where this is all coming from, I wouldn’t go as far as to say imp depressed but I just feel miserable and unhappy most of the time recently. I love my life and all the people in it and nothing majorly devastating has happened to me recently but I just
can't seem to shake it off you know? Whether it’s the weather or just winter in general I’m not sure.
I’m finding it difficult at college, not the work load I really enjoy what we do its just, some of the people in my class, on the whole they are a nice bunch and I do have a few friends who I hang out with but, even those I feel don’t like me very much, or maybe not that they don’t like me I just don’t seem to click with anyone. I’ve never found it easy to make friends, and it’s always takes me quite a while to be myself around people, I feel like everything I say sounds stupid, or just makes me look weird you know? thing is I know half the time if I was just able to be myself I would be fine, I don’t think I’m any different from anyone else, I wish I had the confidence and self belief to not be afraid, to not hold back.

That’s something I just need to deal with and get over isn’t i
t?

Other things have happened at college to that have just pissed me off. But enough about that.

Another thing I’m having difficulty with at the moment is my weight. I've been on this journey for so long now, and I’m still not really happy with myself, or how much I weigh. I know I’ve done well, and I can defiantly see a massive difference now but it still just doesn’t seem enough you know? I've lost just fewer than 4 and a half stones so yeah, quite a lot. You’d think by now I’d be satisfied. I thought I would be. And I bloody well should be proud of myself. I think I concentrate too much on numbers rather than how I feel and how my clothes look, I need to get over what it says on the scales. it’s just really bugging me that I can’t seem to lose these last few pounds, It used to be so easy to shift 3 pounds I could do that in a week but I just can’t seem to be able to. Admittedly, I have slipped up and I haven’t been as religious with my fitness and diet as I could have been recently, I think I need to shake it up a bit, try something new. Oddly though even thought I haven’t lost any weight my clothes still seem to be getting looser? The jeans I bought about a month ago were quite tight, and my buying them was quite ambitious of me but now they seem to fit, and are even a little loose?

I wish I could word my thoughts more eloquently, this just sounds like a massive ramble. Oh well. I'll get overmy self soon I promise :) if you got this far then well done!

I was just browsing the boots website (as you do) and was actually trying to write a review for something but it wasn't letting me send it, so i thought i'd just do it hear instead.
its quite brief but oh well.

I bought this on a whim really, I'm usually quite sceptical about cheaper brands, not that im some form of 'snob' (its not as thought i can afford high end anyway) but when it comes to my face I have to be quite careful, I can get quite bad breakouts and suffer from blocked pores, I also have really red cheeks. anyway, back to the point... I bought this because I was just perusing superdrug in the hope of finding a foundation. when this originally came out (a few months ago) it was on offer with £2 off which made it around £3, I was in a rush and thought, well even if its crap I haven't lost much. as it happens it turned out to be pretty good, I remember the first time I applied it and just being amazed at how good it looked, my skin actually looked quite flawless, it didnt just sit in my pores, it blended in really nicely and the color match was really good. now this is where I should probably post some pictures, however Im rubbish. I wasnt planning on doing this review but Im bored and my BF is sat playing on COD6

this is the little crap bit I was goind to post on boots.com but oh well. ha it sounds quite cheesy.

This is the only foundation I have ever re-purchased! I've tried countless brands and formulations in the past but this is the only one that i've really liked and thought was good. foundations dont usually sit well on my skin as its quite oily and it usually shifts throughout the day but this one has reasonably good staying power, and for someone with less oily skin it would be even better. the color range is good too, I usually have to get the lightest shade but I match really well with 'Biscuit' I am deffinatly going to keep on buying this foundation and at this price how can you go wrong?

I will actually post a few pictures of this me wearing (I may even include the dreaded 'before' picture too) this foundation at a later date just because i love it, but its 11.30pm at the minute.

anyway, Im going to bed now. goodnight lyx

You may or may not know about my other blog, its basically about my 'weightloss', but seeings as no one actually reads it I thought I would just merge it with this blog. I've only actually written a few posts but just to let you know, I will be posting them on here from now on. I've actually nearly come to the 'end' of my journey being only 3 pounds away from reaching my final 'goal', the reason I keep using quotation marks is because everytime i reach a goal i don't seem to be satisfied and feel the need to carry on futher, anyway I will do a more extensive post on this a little later on. I will be posting updates 'regularly' on weightloss and progress. I can appreciate that not everyone will be interested in this but hopefully I can help some people too.
thank you for reading. I'll be back soon ly

My computer has offically given up the ghost. its been on its last legs for a while, but now it just doesnt even have the will to turn on. haha, it was a crap computer in all fairness and needed some serious updating. I was contemplating buying myself a laptop, but just couldnt bring myself to actually save up the money I would need. I'm terrible when it comes to saving. This is going to seriously bite me in the ass one day when I'll need money for something. anyway. becasue I have a rather talented genius of a boyfriend, it was decided that instead of buying a laptop he would instead buy the components to build me a new desktop for christmas. I'm sure that no one is interested in this but oh well.

anyway.
if anyone has any ideas for my giveaway, then please share.
I'm planning on doing a mega post showing you what I get up to on my course but that may have to be next week sometime when I return to my BFs so I can use his computer!

I'm really going to try and post more often but obviously, with the current computer situation this will be limited to when I'm here.

anyway, for now that is all. goodbye ly x

I liked reading this post over at http://lmdpassion.blogspot.com/2009/11/daily-beauty-deets.html and thought I would do it also.

1.What time did you do your makeup today?
well the first time I applied was 8.15am to go to college, but it was very simple so I will do this about the 2nd time which was around 1.45 after doing my workout dvd (and showering obvs)

2. What’s the least expensive beauty item you used? a 17 eyeshadow called Vodence it was a limited edition freebie!

3. What was the biggest problem you needed to correct? redness, open pores (cheeks)

4. Did you apply false eyelashes? no, I don't tend to wear lashes I wear glasses and it just doesnt happen

5. Did you do anything while applying make-up? I had the T.V on, watching Ideal world. ;) cool

6. Biggest make-up mishap today? after doing my liner, I accidently smudge a whole load of it across my face :/

7. Did you have a makeup inspiration in mind? not really, I was just going to wear mascara and a bit of foundation but, I thought i'd better make a bit more of an effort ha

8. What was the most time-consuming part of your makeup routine? probably applying the mascara.

9. What part of your routine is the most fun? Probably eyes, Ijust think its where you can really be more creative, although I do like doing a bit of contouring and blusher too.

10. What part of your make-up makes the biggest difference in the way you look? either foundation or eyemakeup my skin is reasonably clear i just suffer from a lot of reddness and uneven pigmentation so, just to have a nice even tone makes a difference! but then my eyes just look terrible without anything on so.

11. Neutral or colorful eyeshdaow? Neutral

12. Liquid or mineral foundation? liquid, i just think it gives better coverage.

13. Do you do your hair or make-up first? tbh I alternate everytime it just depends on whether my hair is wet/dry etc generally its makeup first though.

14. Did you pack a make-up bag to take with you for the day?yes, I'm staying at my bfs house tonight

15. When did you finish your make-up? 2pm?

so ther we have it. some quite rambly answers, but oh well. thank you for reading ly

So, I have an idea.
I'm going to review products completely based on first impressions, now I know sometimes things don't alwasy perform first time round or take time for you to really benefit from using them but we all know that first impressions can have a lasting effect on how we perceive something. whether this is good or bad, it will impact on our opinions of a certain brand or product.

SO
I'm going to start with some products that I bought yesturday. I went into Lush to have a look at their 'freshers pack' off where you get 8 items for £10, having never bought anything from there before i thought it would be a good way of trying some of their products.

(I also got a trial size moisturizer - cosmetic lad)

I will do seperate reviews for each but I may aswell start now.

the first product is, BB Seaweed Face Mask.

based on first impressions, I have to say the scent isn't one I would usually go for. for me scent is quite an important factor becasue nobody likes smelling of something they don't like. This mask smells like a mix between actual seaweed and lavender, to me anyway, and honestly I'm just not a fan. However, the actual product is really quite nice. obviously when it goes on its very cold (as it has to be stored in the fridge! duhh) but the cold sensation was actually nice, and seemed to awaken the skin a little. It has small particals in (im not sure what they are tbh) that i was initall quite worried about becasue any kind of abrasive texture really irritates my skin and causes redness, but this really didnt effect me at all. I left it on for about 5 minutes and could feel it hardening so popped in the shower to wash it off, now again I was worried the bits would irritate my skin but nope. I looked in the mirror and my skin was really 'calm' looking I know that might not make much sence but my natural skintone is ruddy and I get particularly red cheeks and chin after being in a hot shower/exfoliating so I was really suprised when my skin actually looked 'normal'
it also felt really smooth and moisturized. again usually my skin becomes tight and dry feeling after washing it but not this time!

overall I really like this mask, I think it really helped to eliminate redness to my skin and softened it too.

based on first impressions I would rate this 8/10

(after more extensive use I will review this product again to see if my opinions have changed!)

thank you for reading

Hello, I know its been a very long time since I posted anything. I just thought I'd share a look with you that I did last night.

It's really simple, I used the bright blue from the sleep pallet(chaos) all over the lid. Outer corner - BarryM fine glitter dust No.22, elf mineral eyeshadow (elegant) to highlight and then a brown liner for the bottom waterline. that was it really. simples.

Anyway. requests are welcome. I need to build up a mini portfolio for this course im starting so if you want to see anything in particular let me know.

Thanks

Panda Does Makeup is running a contest, as im sure you'll be aware. I just thought I'd make a quick post with my entry, I chose Leopard, Its probably a bit predictable, but I don't really care, I love leopards, their markings look amazing, so that is what I chose to re-create, I am also aware that leopards aren't actually turquoise. Its not an overly dramatic look, and I think its actually quite wearable? I might not wear it out myself but!

Products:

NYX jumbo Pencil: Milk
both blue shadows from Sleek palette - chaos
Urban Decay Liquid Liner - black...

so there we go, not many products used in the end, hope you enjoy!

I went to Primark the other day to pick up some sandals and a few tops and decided to check out the new beauty section. I'd been in earlier in the week to get the blusher brush, which is lovely btw, and thought I'd see if they had a coral polish, as I wanted one for my toes. Low and behold. They had one. And it looked really nice. So I thought for a pound if its rubbish it really wont matter. I tried it when I got home and was really impressed; it went on really smoothly and dried in a matter of seconds. It has tiny silver glitters that give a subtle shine to it, one pound well spent methinks.

Here is said polish, (do excuse the state of my cuticles. they are nicely trimmed again now, but I had to remove the polish for work)

Im not too sure about other colours they do but I did spot a nice pink one that I may have to go back and purchase.

Hope everyone is ok, I'll probably do some more posts when my inspiration decides to resurface, just going to settle down and read the host now! Bye xx

It's Love.

This polish comes as part of the Nails Inc Pastels Collection (£20 Debenhams) and it is gorgeous.
as you can seen it is a pale lilac, with a really subtle pink shimmer to it.

I know this topic isn't make up related but all of my readers apear to be women so its still might be relevent.
Like many women running up to the start of my period I suffer with bloating and tenderness, I often gain a pound of two of excess water (retention) not pleasant!

up untill about two months ago I just got on with it, but on a trip to superdrug i spotted these tablets that claimed to works effectively by helping to eliminate excess water from the body so you can feel altogether at ease again
I can't remember exactly how much they were but I did buy two packets so thay can't have been that much!
it says to take two after every meal about 5 days before your next period. this is find inst actually nessercary, I take around 2 a day when I start to feel bloated and it works just fine. I have noticed a significant difference you tend to need the toilet a lot more which to me is sign that they're working! and the other big difference is how much less pain i seem to be in during my period. usually my breasts swell and are really tender but this time round there seems to be no difference in them what so ever!
I know this isnt a particularly pleasent subject but I'm really pleased with how they work for me. They also do a herbal aquaban that can be taken at any time, the original should only be taken on those days before your period. another thing, and im not sure whether this has anything to do with the tablets but I usually suffer from bad abdominal cramps, and have so far they haven't actually been that noticable!

anyway. I hope this will help some of you.

This is a product I thought I'd never buy. I'm always sceptical about buying 'cheaper' brands when it comes to make up because I can suffer quite badly with blemishes, so I try to avoid anything that may effect my skin that way. I'd come across Wet'n'Wild once before when I'd visited a large Boots store. I bought a few of their products and was reasonably inpressed. since then I havnt really looked at their products again. Its a cheap brand, but the quality of their products oftne suprises me. I'd read on someones blog about the website selling all the products for half price throughout April, and decided to have a look. I was just looking around really, I knew I needed some more powder, and thought for £2.44 I may aswell try their Ultimate Mineral Powder.

I have to say I am loving this powder. I'm really impressed by it, its 9.5gms so you get a reasonable amout of product. It's described as a 'weightless mineral-based formula that provides nature-looking luminous coverage''flawlessly evens out skin tone, gentle talc-free formula' and I have to say, it actually does all of those things. it has a really soft sheen to it that give the skin a nice glow. I haven't had any problems with it with regards to spots either. so all in all, I really like this powder, I think I may even have to make another oder while eveythings half price and get a back up ;)

when I go home again, I'll take some better quality photos of me actually wearing it so you can see for yourself ;)

So, I went to Tesco. Initially just to buy something for lunch but, of course I had to venture down to the beauty aisle. I was just having a look around, nothing in particular that I was after. I saw the Garnier Summerbody Lotion and thought i'd give that a try, seeings as other people keep bainging on about it. I've just rubbed a little bit on to my arm actually, and it absorbed so easily, and it smells really good so, you can't complain for £1.95.

I also came across a little stand with some baskets of lipglosses/sticks etc all for £1.50 as they are being discontinued. so I got a Bourjois 3D effect Lipgloss in Rose Arctic which is a nice dusky pink with blue reflects. I love the formulation of these glosses, they're not sticky and last quite a while, they're nicely pigmented too. I also oicked up a Lipstick by Maybelline (I have no idea what its called) its a light pink with gold reflects, No.20 Gold'n'Roses, Again I like the formulation of this product, its light and feels moisturising. The picture quality is rubbish, but you can kind of get an idea of what they look like...hopefully

I'm going to see I Love You Man, at the cinema tonight, so that should be good. apart from that I have no other plans. I may even whack out another blog in a bit. eurgh that sounded a bit wrong. anyway
bye for now x

Hello, I'm sorry post's have been a bit thin on the ground recently. Just a quick update really... I've been off college for Easter and have been doing NOTHING for about two weeks, literally...nothing. It's great. :)

It was my birthday the other day, and I had a little bit of money given to me. I was 19. I wanted to buy a new bag and I'd seen a few in River Island that took my fancy.

It was love at first sight. I'd hadn't originally seen this bag I think its new in, it was £29.99 so not too expensive and its HUGE. litterally. massive. which is how I like them :)

In 'real life' its a baby pink, with a hot pink lining, not the orange-y color in the picture.

I picked up a few bits from boots while I was in town, I went to the advantage point machine and printed a few vouchers, one being the Free No7 Highlights Powder(when you buy any other No7 Product)and with No7 being on 3 for 2, it worked out that I only actually paied for one product and got the two others free :) I originally got both of the Highlight powders, 3 metalic eyeliners(purple,Blue & Turqoise and one Liquid liner but I gave a highlight powder and the purple metalic eyeliner to my
boyfriends Mum. I think I'll go back and re-purchase those though as I'm impressed with the others I bought.

I'm off to Tesco's now though so may well bring some goodies back with me :D

I can't stop painting my nails this week, I don't know what's wrong with me. haha

Anyway this Nail Polish ariived today along with an order I placed with Wet n Wild. It cost me £1...and I have to say so far Im impressed. The finish is really nice, and it was an smooth application. it took no time at all to dry aswell, so for £1 I'm pretty impressed. The color is E71503 Flirty Rose Creme. All Wet'n'wild products are half price throughout April aswell.

Today is a very sad day. I was out in town earlier, and my bag fell on the floor, nothing fell out so I just picked it back up and carried on. A while later I went to look for something in my bag and noticed a strong smell of nail polish...so I investigated and noticed that the top of my nail envy was missing and it had all spilled into my bag. Disaster.

So now I have Nail Envy residing at the bottom of my bag, I don't really fancy getting a new one for £15 as I had loads left of my other one. Arghghgg.
:(:(:(
does anyone know a cheap retailer?

Ok I'll start with...
1.
Dove Go Fresh anti-perspirant deodorant: I’m really impressed with this, it makes the skin on my underarms really smooth and smelling fresh  I feel safe wearing this I usually worry about sweating but with this I feel fresh as a daisy and it lasts a long time too.
2.
St Ives Apricot Scrub (blemish Fighting): This is a really good exfoliator. I find I need to exfoliate quite regularly and this doesn’t dry out my skin. It’s for oily/blemish prone skin, which I have and find that it really does help to clear my skin when I get spots. It has a really nice like antiseptic scent to it that is cooling on the skin.
3.
Rimmel Volume Booster Lipstick: as mentioned in my last post I love this lipstick.
4.
No.7 Stay Perfect Top Coat: literally what it says on the tin, when I use this, my nail polish with stay perfect. Its adds a nice shine as well. Need I say more?
5.
Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation: I actually bought this a while ago, and have recently started using it again. It’s a really nice light foundation that covers well and adds a subtle sheen to the skin. It has a really nice ‘florally’ (is that even a word?) scent to it as well.
6.
Witch Radiance Serum: this has a really odd consistency, it’s quite runny, but it’s a really nice light moisturizer with light reflecting particles. Given that I have quite oily skin I find that I can wear this alone and feel that my skin is hydrated enough. Good for anyone prone to spots too
7.
Body Shop Tantalising Lip Butter: This is gorgeous. The scent is so nice and the consistency is creamy and smooth, which is unlike some of the other lip butters I’ve tried, I tend to find them almost gritty? It just melts onto your lips. It even tastes great. even better than that ‘Proceeds will be used to support the 2009 campaign raising awareness on HIV and Aids, in partnership with MTV, raising funds for the Staying Alive Foundation.’

I have never been able to wear nude lipstick. Untill recently every nude lipstick i bought just didnt suit me. I found that because my lips are naturally quite red that I just wasn't able to pull it off. I love the idea of nude lips so I didn't end my search, I bought a turquise dress recently and thought that a nice pinky nude lipstick would go well with it so my search began again and actually it was supprisingly easy to find. I'd seen another post about this lipstick so when shopping one day I decided to have a look at it for myself. It was Rimmel's Volume Booster Lipstick in Foxy. I instantly fell in love with the color and it was exactly the shade i'd been after.

It's have a really nice creamy consistancy, and because its 'volume boosting' a nice colling sensation.

Im just really happy that I've managed to find a nude lipstick I can wear. so for that reason alone it's love

I know its been a while, sorry!

anyway, back to the point. Nail polish... this week I will me wearing Barry M nail paint in 295 Turquise. :) love this color.

I know the picture quality is pretty bad, but you get an idea of the color.

I love the Barry M nail paints, probably the best high street brand of polish that I have come across. for £2.95 a bottle they're deffinatly worth it. I just find them so easy to apply and this finish is great, really smooth. I own quite a few of these already and have just orded the Mint Green one and Pale Purple. :) I'm just waiting for them to bring out a pale coral color and then I think my life will be complete. Natural Collection by Boots have a coral color that is just beautiful called Vintage coral, the colors fab but its quite difficult to apply, so if Barry M want to just bring out that color for me then that would be great :) (y)

Hello,
I just ordered a Split Ender...

Yes, it looks really gimmicky but I've read some really good reviews of it and given that I have really bad split ends and hate going to the hair dressers just for them to 'trim' about 5" of hair I thought I'd give it a go. it was £19.99 from Amazon.co.uk (not including P+P) and should arrive some time next week. Im quite excited. I saw it a while ago and wanted to buy it but didn't. so expect a post on that soon.

on the subject of hair, the other day I purchased a

SUPERDRUG EFFECTS MAHOGANY 5.5

'Colour Effects is a conditioning wash in wash out colour which will add beautiful tones to your hair whilst leaving it in great condition and with a fantastic shine. With 8 shades to chose from, there is something for everyone. This shade adds subtle red tones to light brown to mid brown hair.'

I have to say I'm really impressed with this. it cost me 97p. yes...97P! great for when your going out and want to add some color to your hauir without the damagin effects of dying it.

thank you for reading. have a lovely day.
